چکیده

Catalytic oxidation is a key technology for the conversion of petroleum-based feedstocks into useful chemicals (e.g., adipic acid, caprolactam, glycols, acrylates, and vinyl acetate) since this chemical transformation always involved in synthesis processes. Millions tons these compounds are annually produced worldwide find applications all areas industries, ranging from pharmaceutical to large-scale commodities. The traditional industrial methods produce large amounts those involve over-stoichiometric quantities toxic inorganic reactants homogeneous catalysts that operate at high temperature, originating effluents, often leading expensive downstream processes, along with nonrecovery valuable loss within reactant effluent. Due increasingly stringent environmental legislation nowadays, there considerable pressure replace antiquate technologies, focusing on heterogeneous can under mild reactions conditions, easily recovered, reused. Parallelly, recent advances characterization metal complexes clusters support surfaces have brought new insights catalysis highlight ways systematic design. This review aims provide comprehensive bibliographic examination over last 10 years development catalysts, i.e., organometallic or immobilized distinct supports such as zeolites, hierarchical silicas, clays. methodologies used prepare and/or modify critically reviewed, well immobilization active species. heterogenized presented, some case-studies discussed detail.

Superhydrophobic materials as efficient catalysts for hydrocarbon selective oxidation.

A new type of superhydrophobic material, FP-Co-SiO(2) was prepared with organic groups immobilized on the surface of the SiO(2)-based nanocomposite. This material showed much higher catalytic activity for selective oxidation of hydrocarbons than an equivalent hydrophilic catalyst.

Tailored N-Containing Carbons as Catalyst Supports in Alcohol Oxidation

The introduction of N-containing functionalities in carbon-based materials is brought to stable and highly active metal-supported catalysts. However, up to now, the role of the amount and the nature of N-groups have not been completely clear. This study aims to clarify these aspects by preparing tailored N-containing carbons where different N-groups are introduced during the synthesis of the ca...

Examples of Organic Reactions on Zeolites: Methanol to Hydrocarbon Catalysis

Solid (heterogeneous) catalysts (1–4) are favored in industrial processes because they eliminate the need to separate the catalyst from the products. Heterogeneous catalysts can be solid acids, bases, supported metals, mixed metal oxides, or multifunctional materials. Commercial processes based on solid acids outnumber all others, and zeolites (and closely related materials) are usually the sol...
